Terms and Conditions

At Family Holidays Nepal, we strive to provide exceptional travel and trekking experiences across Nepal. By booking any of our services—whether tours, treks, transportation, accommodation, or other related services—you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions. These terms form a binding agreement between you (the client) and Family Holidays Nepal, governing the use of our services and your responsibilities as a traveler.

Booking and Payment:

To confirm your booking with Family Holidays Nepal, a deposit is required, typically 20–30% of the total trip cost, depending on the nature of the tour or trek. The remaining balance must be paid before the start of the trip, either upon arrival in Nepal or as per the agreed timeline. We accept payment via bank transfer, credit card, or in cash (Nepali Rupees, USD, or Euros). Any transaction charges incurred are the responsibility of the client.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations must be made in writing and sent to us via email. If you cancel your booking 30 days or more before the trip, a full refund of the deposit (minus administrative fees or bank charges) will be issued. For cancellations made between 15 to 30 days prior to departure, 50% of the deposit will be refunded. Cancellations made less than 15 days before the trip start date are non-refundable. However, we are flexible and can often offer credit toward a future trip in case of emergencies or unavoidable circumstances.

Trip Amendments and Delays:

Family Holidays Nepal reserves the right to alter itineraries due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to weather conditions, political instability, natural disasters, or flight cancellations. While we will do everything in our power to maintain the planned itinerary, we may make necessary changes in the interest of client safety and logistical feasibility. In such cases, no refunds will be provided for unused services.

Travel Insurance:

All clients traveling with Family Holidays Nepal are strongly advised to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers personal injury, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, loss of personal belongings, and natural disasters. Clients trekking at high altitudes must ensure their insurance covers helicopter rescue and altitude-related illnesses. Proof of insurance may be required before starting any trek or remote trip.

Health and Fitness Requirements:

It is the responsibility of the client to ensure they are physically fit and mentally prepared for the activities included in their itinerary, especially treks at high altitudes. Any pre-existing medical conditions must be disclosed to Family Holidays Nepal before the trip. We reserve the right to decline a participant if they are deemed unfit or a risk to group safety during the journey.

Passports, Visas, and Permits:

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have a valid passport (with at least six months' validity from the date of entry) and the necessary visas and permits required for entry into Nepal and for trekking. Family Holidays Nepal can assist in providing information and arranging permits such as TIMS cards, conservation area passes, and restricted area permits.

Responsibility and Liability:

Family Holidays Nepal acts as a third-party agent for various services like hotel bookings, transportation, and flight arrangements. While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure your safety and comfort, we are not liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularities caused by third-party providers or by events beyond our control. Clients must accept the inherent risks of adventure travel in a developing country.

Code of Conduct and Behavior:

Clients are expected to behave respectfully toward guides, porters, locals, and other travelers. Family Holidays Nepal reserves the right to refuse service or terminate a trip if a client’s behavior is abusive, illegal, disruptive, or endangers the safety of the group or others. No refund will be provided under such circumstances.

Use of Photos and Media:

Family Holidays Nepal may use photos and videos taken during trips for promotional purposes on our website and social media, unless otherwise requested by the client. If you prefer not to have your image used, please inform us in writing before or during the trip.

Jurisdiction and Governing Law:

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Nepal. Any disputes arising from services provided by Family Holidays Nepal shall fall under the jurisdiction of the legal system in Nepal.
